The two most talked-about rookies in the NFL preseason were involved in one play Saturday night, and the play went a whole lot better for Michael Sam than it did for Johnny Manziel.
Sam not only sacked Manziel. He taunted the quarterback with his own version of Manziel’s “money sign.”
Sam, a seventh-round pick who’s the first openly gay player to play in an NFL game, had two of his team’s four sacks, an impressive showing as he competes for a roster spot.
The night wasn’t all bad for Manziel, though. He did come up with his first career rushing touchdown in the third quarter.
