1. Brown Was Found Face Down in the Tub
CBS Atlanta reports that Brown, 21, was found at 10:25 a.m. January 31. She was found face down in the water by her husband and a friend. She has been taken to North Fulton Hospital in the city. TMZ reports that she has been put in a medically induced coma as doctors try to reduce the swelling on her brain.
The two performed CPR on her. When an ambulance arrived, EMTs performed “life-saving-measures” on Brown. She is alive in a hospital but doctors aren’t saying much. There were four people at her house when she was rescued.
2. She Allegedly Used the Same Drug Dealer as Her Mother
She is Whitney Houston’s only child and the fourth child of Bobby Brown. Brown was born to her famous parents on March 4, 1993. After Bobby and Whitney got divorced in 2007, Whitney got full custody of Brown.
In an interview with Oprah, Whitney admitted that her drug use increased significantly after the birth of her daughter. The National Enquirer made a sensational claim in March 2012 that Brown and her mother used to use the same drug dealer, a man referred to as “Jay.” Hours after she was found in the bathtub, police in Roswell, Georgia, obtained a search warrant for her home.
3. Her Husband Drunkenly Crashed His Car in August 2014
Brown’s husband is Nick Gordon. In August 2014, he was arrested for a DUI at 11 a.m. Brown wasn’t there at the time, Gordon was with a man named Mason Whitaker. Gordon crashed the car but both men were not seriously harmed. Zack Frommer of the Roswell police told Radar at the time:
Today, at about 11:37am, there was a single vehicle accident at Holcomb Bridge Rd (GA 140) near the intersection of Barnwell Rd involving a BMW sedan. Preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle attempted to change lanes, struck a curb and overturned, striking a fire hydrant. There were no injuries reported and no one was transported to the hospital.
4. Brown Inherited $115 Million From Her Mother
She was the sole beneficiary of her mother’s $115 million estate, Brown gained the wealth when she turned 21 in 2014. According to Inside Edition, Brown gets even more when she turns 25 and all of her mother’s possessions when she turns 30. You can watch Brown being interviewed by Oprah here:
Brown is a resident of the Ellard subdivision of Alpharetta, Georgia. She lives there with her husband, who was raised like a son by Whitney Houston since he was 12. Whitney’s mother, Cissy, called Brown and Gordon’s relationship “incestuous.” Cissy is the executor of her daughter’s estate.
5. Brown Has Constantly Courted Controversy
Her last tweet came on January 29.
Brown’s Twitter posts have become news stories in the past, in March 2014, she blasted celebrated actress Angela Bassett as a “bitch” for not casting her in the Lifetime movie about Whitney Houston. Bassett fought back in in an interview with Entertainment Weekly where she said, “I did not think about casting her. And probably for a number of reasons, you know. One being that she’s not an actress. I know she’s acted her and there. I know she’s been on their family’s reality show, but she’s not an actress and acting is a craft.” That same month, Brown posted pictures of her new slender physique, which led to criticism about how much weight she lost.
