A fan was hospitalized after he was stabbed Wednesday night at the TD Garden arena during the Boston Celtics basketball game against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to CBS Radio Boston.

1. The Fan Is Expected to Survive

According to the CBS Radio report, the fan suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.


2. The Stabbing Happened Just Before the Game Ended

The fan was stabbed in the balcony area of the Garden at about 9:45 p.m., shortly before the Celtics completed a 95-92 victory over the Grizzlies, CBS Radio reported.


3. The Suspect Was Wearing a Rajon Rondo Jersey

The person who stabbed the fan was wearing a Rajon Rondo jersey, according to Boston.com. The suspect wasn’t immediately apprehended.

Rondo was traded from the Celtics to the Dallas Mavericks earlier this season.


4. A Fan Was Stabbed Near the TD Garden in 2012

A college student was stabbed in the leg by a Miami Heat fan after a game in June 2012, according to Boston.com. The stabbing happened near the arena. The 22-year-old student survived the stabbing. No arrests were made. According to the police report, two groups of fans met on the street and “became vocal about the result” of the game.

The stabbing happened after the Celtics lost a playoff game to the Heat.


5. The TD Garden Arena is Home to the Celtics & Bruins

The arena opened in 2005 and holds about 18,600 fans for basketball games.
