The mannequins are meant to promote recent increased violence by Palestinians against Israeli citizens over the disputed Al-Aqsa Mosque, known to Jews as The Temple Mount. Jews of Israel have been wanting increased access to the Muslim holy site, which was historically a holy site for not only Jews and Muslims but also Greco-Roman pagans and Christians. Currently Jews are allowed at the holy site but are not allowed to pray. In response, Palestinians have increased lone wolf stabbings while Jews have increased security, often leading to fatal shootings. On November 2, a Palestinian stabbed a 70-year-old man before being shot by police, reports Yahoo! News. Some fear that this new spree could lead to a third intifada.
