WATCH: Giant Alligator Shocks Patrons of Florida Golf Course

Golfers in Palmetto, Florida were shocked recently to encounter a giant alligator strolling across the course, looking as if it came straight out of a 1950s monster movie.

At the Buffalo Creek Golf Course on Sunday, Charles Helms grabbed this crazy video of a gator many are comparing to a dinosaur from Jurassic Park. Despite the fact that the Internet is completely freaking out over this, it apparently is not too unusual of a site for patrons of this course.

In fact, an employee of the golf course told News 3 that this particular alligator roams the area all the time and is even considered by some to the be “mascot” of the course.

“He has been here for a very, very long time, he’s not new at all,” said Wendy Schofield. “There have been guesses that he’s 15 to 16 feet long. The word has spread that this is a great place to come and play. He is the highlight, but we are worth the price too.”

If Schofield’s estimate of the alligator’s height is correct, this is the biggest gator ever recored in Florida’s history. Prior to this, the largest ever captured on film was 14 feet long and weighed in at 780 pounds.
