Tonight’s Powerball drawing is for $90 million. The drawing will happen at 10:59 pm Eastern. The Powerball winning numbers for tonight, May 28, are:
6 – 33 – 34 – 58 – 59 and a Powerball of 12

Want to watch the drawing online as it happens, via livestream? That’s easy! Just visit this link or read our story here for more details. You’ll need to click on the big window “Watch The Drawing Live” and hit play to see the video. It will air about 10 to 20 seconds after the live drawing takes place. However, be aware that the video doesn’t always play correctly. Sometimes the feed “stutters” and cuts off right before all the numbers are drawn.
How do you know if your numbers won? If you match all five white balls in any order and match the red Powerball number, then you’ll win the jackpot. But there are additional ways to win. If you only matched some of the numbers and are wanting to know if you won something, please read the article at this link.
Tonight’s jackpot of $80 million may feel small compared to the huge $1.6 billion prize in January or even the $429 million jackpot from two weeks ago, but it will still make you a millionaire if you win. The lump sum cash value, before taxes, is $46.6 million. Why is the jackpot so much smaller now? Because one person, in New Jersey, won the entire thing. To find out more about the winner, see our story here.
If you choose the Power Play option tonight, you’ll multiply the prize amount of non-jackpot prizes by the amount of the Power Play for tonight. The only exception is the $1 million prize, which only becomes $2 million if you choose the Power Play option when you buy your ticket.
In most locations, you have until 59 minutes before the drawing to purchase a Powerball ticket. Powerball tickets cost $2 (with an additional $1 for the Powerplay option.)
The biggest Powerball jackpot so far took place on January 13, when the jackpot hit an amazing $1.5 billion. There were three winners, from California, Florida, and Tennessee. Two out of the three winners has come forward so far. How much longer does the last winner from California have? To find out, please see this story.
As for tonight’s drawing, if only one person wins, the “lump sum” will be worth $58.7 million, before taxes.
The chances of winning are just a little better than 1 in 300 million. And yet three people defied those odds for the $1.5 billion jackpot in January and walked away winners. Could you be next?
