Lovepop entered the Shark Tank in Season 7 with their one-of-a-kind pop-up cards. Their collection contains a unique greeting for pretty much every occasion. Since the show, they’ve introduced their first emoji greeting and are now releasing their holiday line, with novel designs like Children Building Snowmen, Holiday Palm Trees and Santa Riding a Motorcycle.
The company was launched in 2014 by naval architects Wombi Rose and John Wise. We caught up with Rose, who serves as the CEO, to learn more about their growth since cinching a deal with Kevin O’Leary. They are also a part of O’Leary’s Something Wonderful platform, where the Shark joins the companies in which he’s invested to help with clients’ life events. That network has been invaluable to Lovepop. “Now, as we launch Lovepop Weddings, a completely custom wedding invitation experience, you can be sure we’ll have a lot of questions for Honeyfund, Bottle Breachers, and the rest of the Something Wonderful team,” he said.
Here’s what else he told us about…

Kevin’s Continued Involvement
Kevin is still very involved with Lovepop. It seems like he is pounding the pavement on our behalf pretty much every day, connecting us with potential license deals, introducing us to new investors and developing our wedding strategy. He just invited us back on his QVC show in October where we’ll be showcasing exclusive packs of our awesome new holiday cards.
Being a Part of Something Wonderful

The Something Wonderful crew is fantastic. This summer the Wicked Good team built a huge kiosk right across from us in Faneuil Hall in Boston so we quite literally spend every day with them! As a new company, we are constantly facing new challenges, and it’s invaluable to have the support and from-the-trenches wisdom of companies who have been there just a few short months before.
The Expansion of Their Office in Faneuil Hall

Our Boston office is bustling! We moved in right before Shark Tank aired, and in the nine months since, we have expanded that sparsely populated single floor to three floors full of a rapidly-growing Lovepop team. We’re in the middle of a remodel so that our space will look and feel like Lovepop at every turn, and needless to say, our original team members who have bounced around with us are pretty excited about their new digs!
Support From the City of Boston
Boston is such a supportive place for us. The Chamber of Commerce just shortlisted us for Best Small Business in Boston; we were just nominated for Coolest Company in Boston by BostInno. Our loyal kiosk customers are the heart of our business. They were our first customers, and they’re the ones who have been spreading the word about Lovepop all along the way.
