Thousands of climate march protesters hit the streets on April 29 in American cities from Washington D.C. to Chicago to Denver to advocate for better protection of the earth. The "People's Climate March" took place on the 100th day of Donald Trump's presidency. Many signs skewered Trump, although others simply advocated for a healthier planet, clean air and clean water. According to The Washington Post, "The Peoples Climate March, which originated with a massive demonstration in New York in September 2014, picked a symbolically striking day for its 2017 event." The DC protest took place in sweltering heat that was unusual for April. The Post noted: "On the eve of the march, the Environmental Protection Agency announced that it was beginning an overhaul of its website, which included taking down a long-standing site devoted to the science of climate change, which the agency said was 'under review.'” Slate reported that celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and activist/politicians like Al Gore participated in the climate march. According to Slate, "Hundreds of other marches took place across the country and the world on the day that marked President Trump's 100th day in office to object the way the White House has rolled back environmental protections." Here are some of the best protest signs from the climate marches around the country. As has been seen in other anti Trump protest marches, protest signs have been elevated to almost an art form of their own. According to CNN, "The march began at 12:30 p.m. near the Capitol, and demonstrators planned to move to the White House and end up at the Washington Monument."Beth Phuxster of Denver, Colorado, dressed as Mother Nature, holds a sign while participating in the People's Climate March during a spring snow storm in Denver, Colorado on April 29, (Getty)
