According to the Scotsman, Kelly attended the concert with her sister, Clare Booth, and her 11-year-old niece, Hollie Booth. Kelly's uncle, Paul Dryhurst, said the three were walking in single file, with Claire in front and Hollie in the middle, when the bomb went off. Kelly shielded Hollie and Claire from the explosion. The other two lived, but Claire's jaw was broken and Hollie's legs were broken, he said.
Kelly's partner, Ian Winslow, wrote about the devastating news on Facebook. "Kelly really was the happiest she has ever been and we had so many things planned together. My daughter Phoebe will be absolutely devastated like we all are.” (Facebook)
