Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, landed in Israel on May 22 as part of the presidential retinue.

The president’s daughter and her husband, who is a White House adviser, are practicing Jews who have spoken openly about their faith.

The president and First Lady were also at the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Judaism.

Despite previous reports, the rabbi “who converted Ivanka Trump to Judaism has reportedly denied giving the first daughter and her husband Jared Kushner, both Orthodox Jews, rabbinical approval to fly during Shabbat” during the foreign trip, according to The Times of Israel.

The Times of Israel reported that Ivanka and Jared were spotted flying and riding in a car on the Sabbath, even though “Jewish law does not permit traveling on the Sabbath except in life-threatening cases.”

Ivanka Trump wore a long, dark dress and hat as she toured the president’s residence. The Trumps’ trip to Israel comes as questions remain about accusations the president gave classified intelligence – from either Israel or Jordan, according to The Jerusalem Post – in an Oval Office meeting with the Russians.

The arrival in Israel comes after the Trumps, along with the Kushners and others, spent two days in Saudi Arabia. President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are leading a five-state foreign trip, the president’s first. They will go next to Vatican City and to Brussels.

In Israel, Trump focused his sharpest rhetoric on Iran, and he reiterated the American-Israeli friendship.

“Iran must never be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon,” President Trump said in Israel, adding of Israel, “We are not only long-time friends – we are great allies and partners. We stand together always.”
