PHOTOS: Donald Trump Protesters Line Streets of New York

A protest in New York outside of Trump Tower in underway as hundreds of people in the area await the President’s arrival. The POTUS is scheduled to arrive back in Manhattan this evening. However, when he arrives at his former home, he will be met with many chants and signs of people making sure that he knows they don’t approve of him.

“Four protesters have organized demonstrations at Trump Tower at 725 Fifth Ave. for Monday night, while others plan to gather in Washington Heights’ Bennett Park,” reports DNA Info. The crowds have already lined the streets. So far, the protest has been peaceful.

According to Curbed, several protests have been planned for the duration of Trump’s stay in New York. The following streets will be closed through Wednesday:

• -58th Street from Sixth Avenue to Madison Avenue
• -55th Street from Fifth Avenue to Madison Avenue

Protesters lined the streets of New York following the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend. Many carried signs that read “We hate Trump,” “No hate,” and “We object.”

Women and men of all ages came together to protest President Trump on Monday evening. Some held signs that read “Trump Loves Hate” and “Two Days Too Late,” referring to Trump’s decision to not condemn the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville until two days after the riot broke out.

Several protesters carried signs that read “No. The Trump/Pence Regime Must Go.”

At least one person standing in direct view of Trump Tower in Manhattan held a sign that appeared to be a swastika on first glance. However, the sign was actually a crossed out “45.”

Others standing on the streets chanted things like, “New York hates you.”

People of all ages and backgrounds walked up and down the sidewalks carrying anti-Trump signs.
