Any time Louisville and Kentucky get together, it’s a big deal — not just in the Bluegrass State, but throughout the college basketball world.
When the two teams are both undefeated and ranked in the top 5 in the final days of December, the game is on a different level.
That’s the case Saturday, when the fourth-ranked Cardinals host the top-ranked Wildcats in what might be the most highly anticipated game of the relatively young season. (Heavy will have live updates on this post throughout the game.)
Here’s what you need to know about the game:

As the Lexington Herald-Leader’s John Clay points out, the Wildcats and Cardinals are two of the best defensive teams in the country. The Cardinals are giving up an impressive 54.4 points per game. The Wildcats are even better at 47.7. Neither team will light up the scoreboard, but we like John Calipari’s team to win a close one and keep its hopes of a perfect season alive.
