The No. 4 seed Louisville Cardinals barely escaped with a victory against the Big West Conference Champion, No. 13 seed UC Irvine Anteaters in a close Round of 64 game in the East Region of the 2015 NCAA Tournament.

Louisville plays No. 5 Northern Iowa in the Round of 32 on Sunday.

The Cardinals were led by freshman guard Quentin Snyder with 16 points and senior guard Wayne Blackshear with 19 points. The Anteaters countered with a strong inside game with sophomore center Mamadou N’Diaye and forward Will Davis II, something that may not impact Louisville moving forward in the Tournament based on match-ups.

Louisville-UC Irvine Provided the Best In-game Highlights From Day 2

N’Diaye is a sight to behold. It’s almost alarming how a player so tall ended up at a non-prominent college — no offense to UC Irvine.

In the tightest game of the first day-and-a-half, UC Irvine has been within two possessions since the opening tip-off and provided awesome highlights as shown above.

UC Irvine was down 44-43 with 9:55 remaining in the 2nd half. Louisville is on serious upset alert.

The game was tied at 55-55 with 42.4 seconds remaining in the 2nd half.


Louisville and UC Irvine Were Involved in a Tight 1st Half

The Anteaters making their first NCAA Tournament appearance kept the game tight and led for much of the 1st half. Louisville had no trouble dealing with N’Diaye and the rest of the team’s size. The Cardinals and Anteaters both had 14 rebounds in the opening stanza.

Louisville’s 2015 NCAA Tournament took a stock when it was revealed that Chris Jones was allegedly accused of sexually assaulting two women.
