R-Truth vs. Stardust
Winner: R-Truth!
Highlights: Truth entertained the crowd with his usual “WHAT’S UP!” routine. Both superstars locked up and got into a fierce shoving contest. A slapping war ensued, which led to Stardust taunting Truth. Truth danced to the delight of the crowd and soon took down his out there opponent. Stardust eventually gained the upper hand and threw Truth to the ropes, but Truth recovered and threw Stardust out of the ring. Stardust got back into the match once he suplexed Truth right onto the ropes near the ring corner and then booted him to the outside. Once the action spilled back into the ring, Stardust tore into Truth with some wicked strikes. Truth went for a jack knife pin at one point, but Stardust kicked out and put him down with a clothesline. Truth managed to fight back though and drop Stardust with a front suplex. The action got heavier once Stardust hopped back into the ring with a springboard enzuguri. Stardust proceeded to lock Truth in a sleeper hold. Truth tried to fight back afterwards, but he ate a Side Effect slam for his troubles. Stardust embarrassed Truth by slapping him with one of his gloves. Truth was none too pleased, so he fought back with a spinning side kick, a few strikes and his eventual finisher.
The Mega Powers (Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow) vs. The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)
Winners: The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor)!
Highlights: Curtis Axel embraced his inner Hulk Hogan by donning the full red and yellow getup. He even tore off his shirt and did the Hulk Up routine against Konnor. Viktor stopped the pinfall that followed a Axel leg drop, though. Viktor entered the match and began to beat down the Hogan impersonator. Axel dropped Viktor with a backdrop suplex and tagged in Macho Mandow. Mandow went right into his idol’s signature offense and brought down Viktor, while Konnor fell right out of the ring after Axel. Things went badly for The Mega Powers though, after Mandow ended up eating The Fall of Man after a bout of outside distractions.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus
Winner: Sheamus!
Highlights: Sheamus pie-faced Ziggler before the bell rang. Ziggler wasted no time in taking down Sheamus once he planted a dropkick on him. Sheamus fell to the outside, but he was caught by Ziggler diving out of the ring onto him. Ziggler launched himself off the top rope with a body splash, bit Sheamus kicked out of the following pin attempt. The action soon went into Sheamus’ favor after he smashed Ziggler’s leg and threw him outside the ring. Sheamus laid in a few boots and returned Ziggler into the ring with a suplex. Sheamus continued weakening Ziggler by striking his injured leg and locking him in a sleeper hold. Ziggler fought back to his feet, but he soon ate a backbreaker. Sheamus continued to lay in more kicks to his weakened opponent afterwards. Ziggler found himself locked into another sleeper hold. Ziggler fought back again and even hit Sheamus wit ha jaw breaker and a back elbow. Sheamus ended up running right into the corner steel ring post, a move that Ziggler dodged at the last minute. Ziggler got his 2nd wind and began cracking Sheamus with strikes. Sheamus ended up eating a nice DDT from Ziggler, but Ziggler only grabbed a 2-count. Ziggler continued to beat down Sheamus and even forced him to hiss his arse. Sheamus was beyond pissed, left the ring to regroup and ran into the ring and got dropped with a Fame Asser. Things got even crazier when Sheamus countered Ziggler’s corner ring punches by dropping him with a sitdown powerbomb. Sheamus continued his assault on Ziggler by landing him hard wit ha running powerslam. Sheamus then hit Ziggler with his White Noise and locked him into his Cloverleaf submission. Ziggler grabbed the rope and escaped the leg hold just in the nick of time, though. Sheamus taunted Ziggler with punches and pushes, but Ziggler headbutted and superkicked Sheamus soon after. Ziggler began to bleed and then ate the final pinfall after eating a Brogue Kick.
The New Day (Big E and Kofi Kingston) (with Xavier Woods) (c) vs. Tyson Kidd and Cesaro (with Natalya) (2-out-of-3 Falls Tag Team Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship)
Winners: And still the WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day!
Highlights: The New Day expressed their gratitude for the live audience and wanted them to do nothing but think positive. They even gave a shout out to Adam Jones of the Baltimore Orioles and dissed his hometown team (they haven’t won a World Series in quite a while, folks). The crowd provided them with “New…Day Sucks!” chants. Kidd and Kofi started the match off with a few move exchanges. Cesaro got in a hidden tag and caught Kofi with an uppercut. Big E got tagged in to go head to head with Cesaro. Both men ended up slamming each other with body slams. Cesaro managed to get the best of both Kofi and Big E by putting them on their back and stomping them both. Cesaro held up Kofi for a long suplex, which got aided by Kidd when he body splashed Kofi to the mat. Cesaro ended up swinging Kofi after a spinebuster, which led to the team’s 1st pinfall win after a Kidd dropkick. Xavier tried to enter the match with Freebird rules, but Kidd landed a plancha onto him and then clotheslined Kofi. The 2nd part of the match began when Kidd tried to splash Big E, but Big E caught him and gave him a belly to belly suplex on the outside. Kofi and Big E went to work on Kidd with kicks and a nice offering of tandem offense. Kofi kept Kidd from his partner and let Big E get back in to lock Kidd into a bearhug. Kidd escaped and tried to fight back, but Big E planted him with a running body splash. Cesaro saved his partner from a pinfall, but Cesaro paid for his interference by getting speared trough the ropes by Big E. Kofi launched himself off the top rope for a big move, but Kidd countered him with a dropkick. Kidd had to fend for himself for a while as Cesaro laid hurt on the outside. Kidd ended up getting pinned after the New Day’s finisher though, which led to Kofi and Big E getting the 2nd pinfall. The 3rd and final part of the match began with Big E entering the ring to beat down Kidd. Big E threw Kidd across the ring with another belly to belly suplex, but Kidd ended up pushing Big E right into the corner ring post. Finally, Cesaro recovered and re-entered the match. Cesaro went to work by landing a series of impressive moves on Big E and Kofi. Cesaro and Kidd almost nabbed the win with a backbreaker/springboard elbow drop combination, but Kofi kicked out at two. Kidd locked Kofi in the Sharpshooter while Cesaro pushed Big E right over the announce table. Kidd went for a big move, but got pushed over the top rope right onto Cesaro. Cesaro pushed him back in to let him land his move, though. The finish came out of nowhere once Xavier Woods managed to roll up Cesaro, confuse the ref and earn the 3rd and final pinfall for his team.
