In only their fourth season of top flight football, Swansea City finished eighth in the Premier League in 2014-2015. Swansea’s season started with a hot start, beating Manchester United on the opening weekend, but the Swans could not keep that momentum through the season, even though they won four games against top-four teams in 2014-2015. Although they were not up for a top-four challenge in 2014-2015, players like Ki Sueng-Yeung, Gylfi Sigurdsson, and Bafetimibi Gomis had outstanding seasons for the Welsh side and Jonjo Shelvey developed in his second season with Swansea. The biggest transfer from Swansea was Wilfred Bony leaving Wales for Manchester City, but Swansea has added Portugese winger Eder and Ghanese forward Andre Ayew this offseason in an effort to bolster their strike force for the 2015-2016 season.

Swansea opens the season with a roar, traveling to Stamford Bridge to play Chelsea on the opening weekend and playing Manchester United before the end of August as well. Three of Swansea’s final five games are on the road as well and Swansea’s two home games are not easy as well, as they host Manchester City and Liverpool.
