No team finished the 2014-2015 season on a higher note than Stoke City, who demolished Liverpool 6-1 to close the season, and the Potters look to build on the strong end of the season that saw the side beat Tottenham 3-0 as well and finish ninth in the Premier League. Stoke has not finished in the top five of the top flight of English football since 1974-1975 and have not played in European competition since 2011-2012. Stoke lost starting goalie Asmir Begovic and strikeman Steven N’Zonzi this offseason in big transfer moves, but added Glen Johnson and Joselu for the 2015-2016 season.

Stoke has a great start to the season, playing a Liverpool team at home that they thrashed 6-1 on the last weekend of the 2014-2015 season, and play only three top 10 teams from 2014-2015 in their first 12 games. The month of April is brutal for Stoke though, as they play Swansea and Tottenham at home and travel to Liverpool and Manchester City.
