The Jags and Lions meet on Friday night in inter-conference preseason action. The game will most likely feature the debut of T.J. Yeldon, who has missed the Jags’ first two contests with a finger sprain. In addition to Yeldon, it will be the final dress rehearsal for Blake Bortles, who enters his first full season as a starter with a new offense led by OC Greg Olson.
Detroit made headlines in last week’s preseason game against Washington. Detroit lost the game 21-17, but knocked Washington QB Robert Griffin out of the game with what was ruled a concussion. The Lions front has been known to be physical, and last week was a reminder to the league that the real games are fast approaching.
