WATCH: Texas High School Football Players Target Ref Over ‘Bad Call’

An investigation is underway after Texas high school football players appeared to intentionally blindside a referee because they were upset over a “bad call.”

The incident, which happened during a game Saturday between San Antonio’s John Jay High School and Marble Falls High School, was caught on video. One of the Jon Jay players slams into the referee from behind, sending him to the ground. Another player then runs in and dives into the downed official. Both players were ejected from the game, according to the San Antonio Express-News.

Jon Jay lost the game. The incident happened with about a minute left to play, shortly after two other Jon Jay players were ejected from the game on separate plays, the Express-News reports.
