One of the major keys to a productive tight end (and receiver) is the amount of targets he receives. Let’s face it, if you don’t see the ball come your way, you can’t pile up catches, yards or touchdowns.
And if that’s the case, you’re pretty useless to my fantasy team … #facts.
So let’s look at the tight ends with the most targets this season:
Martellus Bennett, Bears — 53 targets (8.8 per game), 34 receptions, 2 TDs
Greg Olsen, Panthers — 45 targets (9 per game), 24 receptions, 3 TDs
Charles Clay, Bills — 45 targets (7.5 per game), 31 receptions, 2 TDs
Gary Barnidge, Browns — 40 targets (6.7 per game), 27 receptions, 5 TDs
Tyler Eifert, Bengals — 40 targets (6.7 per game), 28 receptions, 6 TDs
Jimmy Graham, Seahawks — 39 targets (6.5 per game), 29 receptions, 2 TDs
Travis Kelce, Chiefs — 39 targets (6.5 per game), 29 receptions, 2 TDs
Rob Gronkowkski, Patriots — 38 targets (7.6 per game), 23 receptions, 5 TDs
