If you’re looking for a preview of what will be one of the most popular events during next summer’s Rio Olympics, look no further than the Gymnastics World Championships.
Hundreds of the planet’s best athletes will gather in Glasgow, Scotland over the next 10 days, not only competing for medals, but also for Olympic qualification. 2012 Olympians such as Gabby Douglas and Aly Raisman are back for the Americans, but the headliner is 18-year-old Simone Biles, who has taken the gymnastics world by storm, dominating both the 2013 and 2014 World Championships.
On the men’s side, Japan’s Kohei Uchimura, a five-time World Championships all-around gold medalist and one-time Olympic all-around gold medalist, is clearly the one to keep your eye on.
