That’s a pretty solid way to start an ALCS. The Kansas City Royals cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday night, grabbing an early lead in the series and building a big-time bit of postseason pitching confidence.
Edinson Volquez pitched six scoreless innings, buoyed by a 97 mph fastball, as the Blue Jays notched just three hits, their fewest ever in a postseason game.
But, that was yesterday. Now, it’s time to move on to Game 2 and a whole new challenge ahead.
David Price will get the start on the mound for the Blue Jays on Saturday afternoon, looking to snap a particularly bad series of postseason starts. Kansas City will counter with Yordano Ventura.
First pitch for Game 2 is scheduled for 4:07 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally in the United States on FS1 and in Canada on SNET. No TV? That’s cool. Here’s how to watch online and on mobile:
