Before the Seattle Seahawks (1-2) take on the Detroit Lions (0-3) on Monday Night Football, singer and actress Megan Hilty will perform the national anthem at CenturyLink Field.
And she’s pretty pumped about it:
A native of Bellevue, Washington, which is about 20 minutes east of Seattle, Hilty is perhaps best known for her role as Ivy Lynn on NBC’s former TV series, “Smash.” But her resume goes far beyond just that.
The 34-year-old has performed in “Wicked” and “9 to 5: The Musical” on Broadway, and she’ll soon return to the famous stage in “Noises Off.” She has acted–both voice and regular–in a long list of movies and television shows. She has performed concerts and is currently on tour.
In other words, performing the national anthem in front of a primetime audience is no sweat to the talented actress and singer.
Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. For information on how to watch the broadcast live online, check here:
