It’s about more than football.

France and England will meet as scheduled on Tuesday, amid heightened security around Wembley Stadium. Les Bleus are four days removed from sleeping in their own stadium, but the decision was made early in the week to proceed with the friendly.

“The match will be a serious occasion but one that shows that the football world is united against these atrocities,” said England manager Roy Hodgson in a statement released by the FA.

Armed security will patrol Wembley, according to reports. Elsewhere, Tuesday’s friendly between Germany and Belgium has been postponed at the advisement of the Belgian government.

England will do all they can Tuesday to show support for their French brethren. Prince William will attend the friendly, and England supporters will sing the French national anthem.
