The Alabama defense continued to show up in the SEC championship. The Gators were punting deep in their own endzone, and Alabama was able to block it. The Crimson Tide tried to recover it for a touchdown but the ball went out of bounds.
Derrick Henry Fumbled the Ball
Heisman front-runner Derrick Henry fumbled the ball at the start of the second quarter. Fortunately for Alabama, the Crimson Tide defense was able to stop the Florida offense and the Gators did not convert any points off the turnover.
Henry Scored Alabama’s First Touchdown
Henry redeemed himself from his earlier fumble and had a short touchdown run. It was the first Alabama touchdown of the game and gave the Crimson Tide a 12-7 lead which they took into halftime.
Antonio Callaway Returned a Punt for a Touchdown
The Gators got a huge boost when Callaway returned a punt for a touchdown with 11:53 left in the second quarter. It was the first touchdown of the game and gave the Gators a 7-2 lead.
ArDarius Stewart Made an Amazing Touchdown Catch
Stewart made an amazing 33-yard touchdown catch to give Alabama a 22-7 lead. Alabama was starting to run away with the game.
C.J. Worton Made an Incredible Touchdown Grab
The Gators were trailing in the fourth quarter but that did not stop them from fighting back. Worton grabbed what turned out to be a jump ball touchdown. The Gators converted the two-point conversation to make it 29-15.
