Barcelona continue their quest to repeat as Champions of Europe today, as the squad is in London to face Arsenal. Arsene Wenger’s men have been knocked out at this stage of the competition in the last five years, and the last three seasons featured poor performances at home.
Last year it was a shocking 3-1 defeat to Monaco, and the previous two were two-goal losses to Bayern Munich. This could be the best Arsenal side in any of these past five seasons, as the squad is alive in the title race and was able to rest players in FA Cup action over the weekend.
Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey and Petr Cech will all be rested for today’s match, but Arsenal were only able to manage a 0-0 draw with Hull City for their efforts. Barcelona, riding their 32-game unbeaten streak, won’t adjust from the squad that has been dominating Spanish football. Expect to see the normal trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez up front, and former Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen at the back.
