Late Money on Broncos
Right around halftime of the NFC Championship, Carolina opened as a 3.0- or 3.5-point favorite, depending on where you looked. Money quickly avalanched in on the Panthers, and they were soon 6.0 point favorites.
In the last couple of days, though, the Broncos have been getting a lot of attention. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal‘s Matt Youmans, BIlly Walters, one of the world’s most respected sports gamblers, “made a big move” on the Broncos in the middle of the week, which altered the spread at a particular sports book.
Jason Simbal, via ESPN’s David Purdum, is reportedly a similar trend:
Although, the spread has dropped to 5.0 or 5.5 in a lot of places, Bovada still has the Panthers at minus-6. The moneyline, though, has moved from Carolina (-210) and Denver (+175) on Wednesday to Carolina (-180) and Denver (+160) today, suggesting a lot of recent action is on the Broncos.
