Ayesha Curry Game 6: The Tweets You Need To See

Ayesha Curry, Steph Curry‘s wife, had a difficult time at Game 6 of the NBA Finals in Cleveland Thursday night. Not only did the Golden State Warriors lose to the Cavaliers, but her husband fouled out of the game. Ayesha then accused the NBA of fixing games for “ratings” and said that her father was racially profiled by police. Before the game, she worried about getting into the arena on time.

Ayesha said that just 10 minutes before the game started, security still wouldn’t allow her party into the arena.

She claimed that her cousin wasn’t allowed in because he was wearing all Warriors gear.

Thankfully, by the time tip-off was set to start at 9 p.m., they arrived.

With around four minutes left in the game, Curry fouled out and threw his mouthpiece at the crowd on his way to the locker room. After the game, Ayesha expressed her displeasure with the referees, writing that she thinks the NBA engineered the Finals to reach a Game 7 for money and ratings. She later deleted the tweet.

Ayesha later apologized for her tweet.

Her next tweet revealed that her father was racially profiled by police.

ESPN reports that NBA security was looking for David Aminzadeh, who is infamous for creating fake credentials to get into sports events. The con artist was never found. Ayesha claimed that police thought her father looked like Aminzadeh and asked him to take off his credentials.

Curry and Warriors coach Steve Kerr were both fined $25,000 – Curry for throwing the mouthpiece and Kerr for criticizing officials after the game.

On Friday, Ayesha got into a spat with ESPN First Take co-host Stephen A. Smith, who didn’t really think she was right in complaining about the game. Here’s what Smith said, via USA Today.

If that was Savannah, LeBron’s wife. If that were Gloria, LeBron’s mother, what would we be saying? LeBron James has a mom and has a wife, has kids, great guy, an even greater ambassador of the game of basketball than Steph Curry … And I got news for you, as beautiful as everybody wants to say Ayesha Curry is, and she is, Savannah is something special. … She sits there, she doesn’t bring any attention to herself, she never tweets and goes out and calls out the league and nobody is more scrutinized than her husband.

Ayesha responded:

And then Smith responded:

When you’re out there tweeting and saying the things that you’re saying, you are putting your husband in a precarious position. And I’m saying if that were LeBron James and his wife, it would have been treated differently by the media and by the masses.

The Warriors and Cavs play again on Sunday. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
