Freddie Freeman’s struggles from early in the season feel like a million years ago. Freeman is having one of the best seasons of his career. With 26 home runs, he’s already surpassed his career high in home runs, and his average is climbing up toward .300. He’s near his career high in doubles, and even has 6 triples on the year.

It’s been a big year for Freeman not just on the field, but at home as well. He has been married to his wife Chelsea for nearly 2 years, and currently she’s expecting their first child. The 26 year old first baseman is happily married to a wife that is incredibly supportive, and working on her own career as well.

Here’s what you need to know.

1. She is a Former Model and a Current Realtor in Georgia

When Chelsea, then Chelsea Goff, was in college in the early 2010s attending the University of Central Florida, she was also working as a model. Her Model Mayhem profile (complete with portfolio) shows many different credits from 2010-2013, including the 2011 Spring Break Nationals and modeling at shows for companies like Harley Davidson and Ferrari.

Currently, modeling seems to be somewhat in the past for her. Her work in real estate takes up plenty of time now, working as a realtor in Georgia for Keller Williams Realty Consultants.

2. She and Freeman Began Dating in 2011, and Were Engaged in January 2014

Freddie and Chelsea met when she was still in college, and according to Player Wives, they began dating around July of 2011. A year and a half later, she made the move from Florida to Atlanta, where he played and resided.

The relationship progressed quickly from there, as she found work in Atlanta and Freeman established himself as an upcoming star in the MLB. In January of 2014, he popped the question to her while on a boat. She of course said yes. Just a couple of weeks later, Freddie Freeman signed an 8 year contract extension worth $135 million.

3. She and Freddie Freeman Were Married in Late 2014

If their initial relationship progressed quickly, the engagement was even quicker. Later that year, in November, the pair was wed, with the wedding taking place in Florida at the St. Regis Bal Harbour. Unsurprisingly due to the couples’ success in their fields, various models and Major League Baseball players were in attendance, including Jason Heyward and iconic Braves third baseman Chipper Jones.

4. She Appeared on Say Yes to the Dress

Some of the Freeman wedding was actually televised. In February 2015, just a few months after the couple was married, an episode of Say Yes to the Dress aired that included Chelsea in it. She was on the show for both her ceremony and reception dress. The major conflict of her appearance involved the reception dress – while the ceremony dress looked great, the reception dress, which involved an ostrich feather skirt, wasn’t nearly full enough yet with the wedding a month away. The day of the reception, however, she was relieved to find the dress ready and to her liking.

5. The Couple Owns a Cat, and is Expecting a Baby Boy

The Freemans, in addition to being happily married, are the proud owners of a cat, Nala. During their 2016 trip from Georgia to Florida for Spring Training, Nala tagged along. Chelsea made sure to take plenty of pictures of Nala, which got plenty of retweets on Twitter from Braves fans and cat fans alike.

In addition to Nala, Chelsea is currently pregnant, soon expecting a child. The pair actually went viral in March 2016 thanks to a video she posted on Twitter. Chelsea pitched a ball to Freddie, who hit it and watched it explode. Blue smoke emerged from the ball and the couple, who were doing this as a fun way to discover the gender of their baby, learned that they were having a boy. Friends and family were around the ballpark to see and celebrate with them.
