The PGA Tour FedExCup Playoffs are in full swing and that means the stakes are getting higher.
And so is the prize money.
This Labor Day weekend the pros are at TPC Boston for the Deutsche Bank Championship. The total purse for the event is $8.5 million and $1.53 million of that goes to the winner. In addition to that hefty chunk of change, the victor also gets 2,000 FedExCup points.
Both of those numbers are slightly up from 2015 when Rickie Fowler edged Henrik Stenson by a stroke for the win. Fowler took home $1.485 million for that victory. The purse last year was $8.25M.
Next week the schedule moves to Crooked Stick Golf Club in Indiana for BMW Championship, the third leg of the FedExCup Playoffs. This is also an $8.5 million event with the winner collecting $1.53M.
