The Seattle Seahawks were forced to insert rookie Rees Odhiambo on the offensive line for today’s divisional playoff game in Atlanta against the Falcons, and in the second quarter of the game, the lack of reps with quarterback Russell Wilson showed. Odhiambo stepped on Wilson after the the ball was snapped, causing Wilson to fall back into the Seahawk end zone and then Falcons defensive lineman Ben Garland touched Wilson down to secure the safety.
Germain Ifedi was the Seahawk guard who left the game after a Falcons defender rolled under his leg, causing Seattle to put Odhiambo in the game. To add insult to injury for the Seahawks, the safety came shortly after a 79-yard punt return by Devon Hester that would have given Seattle the ball deep in Atlanta territory had been called back due to a penalty.
