Single Entry/Cash Lineup
– CAPTAIN: Stephen Gostkowski ($5,100)
– Patrick Mahomes ($11,400)
– James White ($9,200)
– Travis Kelce ($8,600)
– Julian Edelman ($7,800)
– Rob Gronkowski ($7,600)
Yes, Stephen Gostkowski (or Harrison Butker) in the captain spot. It's safe, straightforward and each player should have a fairly safe floor in this game. But beyond that, this allows us to load up the rest of the lineup.
Single entries are just so much different than 150-max games and although I didn't get both quarterbacks in (I wanted to) this lineup worked out well. The most "risky" player is Rob Gronkowski, who has a solid floor and I wouldn't be surprised to see him find the end zone. Each of these positional players should have no problem hitting 15-plus DraftKings points, which sets us up nicely.
From there, since we have the safety aspect covered, all we need is for Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to link up for a touchdown or two. I spoke previously about the Patriots' struggles against tight ends, but they've also allowed 1,314 yards and 11 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks, so Mahomes should be able to have his way here.
James White, as mentioned, is a key for me. He's going to see consistent workload and targets no matter what, and the Chiefs have shown nothing to worry me about their potential to slow him down. White finishing this game with 8-10 targets and topping 80-100 combined rushing and receiving yards should be easy.
Last but not least is a player I've yet to mention in Julian Edelman. Since I didn't get Brady in this lineup, I wanted a few of his top weapons. We have his reliable option in Edelman now, as well as the highly-targeted White and potential red zone weapon (hopefully) in Gronkowski. It seems like a well-rounded group that has us covered on all things Brady.
And in case you aren't sold on Edelman for whatever reason, his matchup is also appealing, considering the Chiefs have given up 826 yards and six touchdowns to wideouts. Could we get a sneaky Edelman touchdown? It's possible.
