Warriors Summer League Roster & Lineup: Jordan Poole Among Names to Watch

The Golden State Warriors typically don’t see their players from NBA Summer League action log big minutes during the regular season. But due to injuries and a few additional offseason moves, along with the emergence of one or two young players, that may change in 2019-20.

Obviously, Golden State’s young players still have plenty of time to impress this offseason, but the 2019 NBA Summer League is a great starting point. Among the Warriors’ many names in the mix for the Las Vegas-based tournament this year is first-round pick Jordan Poole along with second-round selection Eric Paschall.

We’re going to take a look at the Warriors roster and lineup for summer league play.

Jimmer Fredette also began the offseason as a part of Golden State’s summer league roster. As Mark Medina of The Mercury News reported, he opted to leave after two games in order to minimize his chance of injury while also weighing options to play overseas.

Fredette had left prior to the Warriors’ summer league action in Las Vegas getting underway on Friday, July 5 against the Charlotte Hornets. Golden State fell in that game 93-85, but each of their starters scored in double figures.

Jordan Poole struggled with his shot from outside, knocking down just 3-14 attempts from deep, but finished with 15 points and made 3-5 from inside the arc. Eric Paschall posted a strong stat line with 12 points, five rebounds and four assists over 25 minutes.

Ky Bowman Joins Poole, Paschall as Warriors to Watch

While Poole and Paschall are drawing plenty of attention after being selected in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Warriors summer league roster features a decent amount of talent at various positions. Alen Smailagic is just 18 years old and as the ESPN broadcast team revealed, he was the youngest player on Golden State’s G League roster last season.

Ky Bowman, a rookie guard out of Boston College, showcased his ability to find the bottom of the basket during his three-year collegiate career. Bowman increased his scoring and rebounding in each season with Boston College, posting averages of 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 2018-19.

During the Warriors’ first summer league game, Bowman tied with Travis Wear for the most minutes played off the bench with 18. He scored five points with three rebounds and two assists, but struggled with fouls, picking up four over that stretch.
