Ravens Sign Marcus Peters to Lucrative Contract Extension

The Baltimore Ravens and cornerback Marcus Peters have reportedly agreed to a contract extension. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the three-time Pro-Bowler’s new deal is worth 3-years and $42 million, which includes $32 million guaranteed.

Peter, who was drafted 18th overall by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, joined the AFC North champions in October when the Los Angeles Rams traded him in exchange for linebacker Kenny Young.

The 26-year-old’s time in Maryland has been nothing short of impressive. Since putting on the purple and black, Peters has recorded three interceptions, including two pick-sixes. His career totals include 27 interceptions and seven defensive touchdowns in 76 career games.

At such a young age, he has plenty of years left in the league. Not to mention, he’ll become a free agent at 29. Given how long most players play in the NFL, it’s safe to say Peters could be a useful asset for Baltimore or any other time as he enters the prime years of his career.
