Apple Almost Called the iPhone “TelePod” and Other Strange Names

Ken Segall, Apple’s former advertising lead, recently spoke to a marketing class at the University of Arizona and said, “Apple almost called the iPhone the Telepod”. Apple wasn’t able to use the name iPhone because Cisco had owned it at the time. Other names that came up were TriPod, Mobi and even the iPad. According to 9to5Mac, they were able to listen to Segall’s speech, and this is why Apple almost picked those names for the iPhone:

We all know though that Apple saved the iPad for its tablet. Would you have bought the iPhone if it was called TriPod or TelePod?
