Google Chrome chief Sundar Pichai wants to launch Android 4.4 called Kitkat and the new Nexus 5 smartphone on October 14th according to Cult of Android. The sources Cult of Android spoke to claimed that the new build would arrive alongside the upcoming smartphone with updates for the Nexus 4 and the new Nexus 7 following afterwards.
TechnoBuffalo has posted the following specs that should be associated with the new operating system:
-Firmware availability to older phones
-Fragmentation changes (screen resizing)
-Miracast updates
-New Gallery Visualisation
-New APIs regarding animations
-Change android default blue to other preset palette colours
-New notification widgets
Previous iterations of the Android OS have been launched around the same time too. Android 4.1.2 arrived October 9th, 2012 while Android 4.0 came out October 19th, 2011.
However, Cult of Android advises readers to take this news with a grain of salt. With Sundar Pichai’s announcement a few weeks ago in regards to what this particular version of Android would be called. Although the Nexus 5 may have appeared in a new series of regulatory filings, Google can be one of the rare tech companies that has a few surprises in store for an unsuspecting audience.
