The Juno spacecraft will be passing through earth’s orbit tonight at 9:30 PM eastern time. The source of the video will be the Slooh Space Camera which should feature views of Juno flying by the observatory while live tweeting the hashtag #nasajuno.
Juno will be using the planet’s gravity to catapult itself towards Jupiter. The satellite will reach Jupiter in 2016 and circle the planet a total of 33 times. The rocket launched on August 25th, 2011 but the suns gravitational pull dragged it back towards earth. The craft will break numerous records if this mission is successful so tune in tonight!
