Popular social networking service Vine has recently announced a ban on porn. Here’s what you need to know about the end of pornographic content on this looping video service.

1. Vine May Have Banned Porn Because a Kid Had Sex With a Hot Pocket

According to The Wire, a kid using Vine recently uploaded a vid of himself going all “American Pie” on a Hot Pocket. This may have been the event that pushed Vine to formalize their policies against porn.

You can learn more about the incident in the video above. Don’t worry, the video doesn’t show the actual Vine with the Hot Pocket guy.

2. Vine Has Banned Porn, Not Nudity

While Vine has banned porn, they have not banned nudity. In other words, sex acts would be frowned upon, but nudity done in the name of art or education would get a pass. Fox News states that Vine is totally okay with “nudity in a documentary context” and “clothed sexually suggestive dancing.”

You can read a full list of no-no’s here.

3. Porn-Friendly Vine Copycats Are Likely to Emerge

(Pornostagram)

Much in the same way that Instagram users interested in pornographic pics are starting to use Pornostagram, it’s highly probably that some enterprising techie will create a Vine clone that is porn-friendly. We’re guessing such a Vine-copycat would have a “porny” sounding name, or a punny name like “Fine” or “Creeper.”

4. Break Vine’s No Porn Rule, Get Punished

According to the Vine support team, punishments for breaking the porn rules will vary. They elaborate:

“Users that violate this policy may be suspended and eligible for account restoration only after they have removed violating posts and certified that their account complies with the Vine Rules. Severe or repeated violation of this policy may result in permanent suspension. Users who believe that their account has been suspended in error may submit an appeal via our support form.”

5. Vine Will Be Relying on Users to Police the Service

According to CNN, “Twitter is not assembling a full-time Vine porn enforcement task force.” It will be up to Vine users to flag offensive content.
