Google officially announced Android L earlier this year at Google I/O, and subsequently revealed that the “L” would stand for Lollipop. In a blog post from October 15, Google announced that Android L would ship with select phones, while other Android phones would be able to get L as an update at some point in the future.

According to that blog post, Android 5.0 Lollipop will come preloaded on the Nexus 6, as well as the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player. The blog post adds that Google will make Android L available on Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices “in the coming weeks.” According to a recent report from 9to5Google, you can expect the Lollipop update to hit the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 on November 3. Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and LTE Nexus 7 users should have the Android L update by the end of November.

Google’s official Nexus 6 page states the Nexus 6 is “available for pre-order starting in late October.” You will be able to buy this device from carriers like AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The device will also be available from Best Buy, Google Play, or US Cellular. This phone is expected to ship by mid-November.

According to 9to5Google, the following Motorola devices will get Android L at some point in the near future: Moto X, Moto X (2014), the Moto G, Moto G (2o14), Moto G with 4G LTE, the Moto E, the Droid Mini, the Motorola Droid Ultra, and the Motorola Droid Maxx. The exact release date for Android L on these devices is not yet known, but Android fans are excited to experiment with all the new features in Android L.

Own a HTC smartphone? According to CNET, “HTC has already said that it will start rolling out Android 5.0 to its HTC One M8 and HTC One M7 worldwide ‘within 90 days of receiving final software from Google,’ meaning sometime before February.”

Own a Samsung smartphone? 9to5Google says that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will get the Android L update sometime in December. It’s not clear when other Samsung phones will get the Lollipop update.

Own an LG phone or an ASUS phone? A report on 9to5Google states that LG G3 and LG G2 owners can expect to get Lollipop in early 2015. Owners of the ASUS Zenfone or Padfone can expect the update sometime around April, with the exception of the PadFone Infinity (A86), which will be getting the update closer to June of next year.

As far as tablets go, we know that the NVIDIA’s Shield tablet will get the Lollipop update sometime in November. An exact date is not yet known.
