Bobby Brown

After getting arrested for drunk driving for the third time, Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail after pleading no contest in court on Tuesday, reports TMZ. The troubled singer has until March 20 to surrender to the Los Angeles county jail and is ordered to attend 3 AAA meetings per week until then.

Back in October, Brown was arrested after cops spotted him swerving and smelled alcohol in his car. The singer was charged with a DUI and driving on a suspended license. His license had been suspended for a previous DUI charge in 2012 and Brown was also convicted for driving under the influence in 1996, making this DUI charge his third.

After pleading no contest in court on Tuesday, Brown was sentenced to jail and four years probation. He was also ordered to complete 18 months of alcohol addiction treatment.

The 44-year-old singer was a member of the famed group, New Edition, and is the ex-husband of the late Whitney Houston.
