Katy Perry’s performance for the halftime show is said to be 12 and a half minutes long … and she’s definitely nervous, but tries not to let it show. Perry told Billboard:
Everyone has been asking me if I’m going to be nervous before the halftime show. I’m like, I’m fucking human. This is the biggest event of my career.
Perry will be joined by live animals on stage in addition to rock star Lenny Kravitz, who she says is “incredibly soulful.”
2. Missy Elliott Is Reported To Be a Surprise Performer

According to The Associated Press, Missy Elliott is set to be joining Perry and Kravitz in a surprise performance at the Super Bowl. SB Nation writes:
Like most Super Bowl Halftime shows, the NFL is sure to have several surprise guest appearances during the performance. One name which has leaked is Missy Elliott. Elliott, a 43-year-old hip-hop and R&B artist, will join Perry and Kravitz at some point in the show.
Perry revealed to Vanity Fair: I wanted to bring someone back,” she told reporters. “A throwback of sorts that definitely needed some more shine. All I can say is it will be a real female fun night. It’s a bit old school. When this person enters the stage and you hear the first ring of the chord I think jaws will drop and faces will melt.

In Fall 2014, the halftime performer for the 2015 Super Bowl was up for debate and many were vying for the king of parodies, Weird Al Yankovic to perform. There was even a petition on Change.org, which you can view by clicking here. The petition had 129,690 supporters. At the time that the petition was circulating, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Rihanna were rumored to be up for the position as halftime performer. In the end Perry was the choice.
