Amazon Prime Day is in full swing, so it should come as no surprise that there are a ton of video game related deals. One of the biggest offerings today is from developer Blizzard, who have cut the price of their hit class based shooter Overwatch by 50%. This drops the price of the game down to $29.99, which is more than worth it if you’ve been looking to get into this game. This deal will officially start according to Amazon at 8:05 EST / 5:05 PST.
Much of the value from this title comes from the constant post game content that has been developed by Blizzard. Since Overwatch released last year there have been 6 news maps, 3 additional heroes, multiple balance changes, a plethora of seasonal events, and lots of cosmetic items. The community is also going strong with over 30 million players registered across all platforms.
This deal also comes alongside the release of Blizzard’s newest hero Doomfist, who has been teased since the game’s launch. While he is still in the PTR (Public Test Realm), users can expect this hero to officially launch sometime in the near future. Doomfist is a close range fighter that can absolutely devastate any hero her comes across via a series of combos. In fact, this hero was already nerfed just one day after his release on the PTR.
Blizzard also has a surprise for those who have been utilizing Twitch Prime, as players will now be able to link their Amazon Prime account to Twitch. Those who do this will obtain a Golden Loot Box, which guarantees a legendary skin for that player. We recommend getting this loot box once Doomfist officially drops so you have a chance to obtain one of his legendary skins. This Twitch Prime offer will end on August 10, so there’s no need to rush.
You can pick up Overwatch here on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or PC. This is the Origins Edition of the game, meaning it will come with exclusives skins you can only get with this version. Overwatch will only be 50% off for the duration of Amazon Prime Day.
