Beyoncé and Jay Z Got Slim On a 22-Day Vegan Diet
In December 2013, both Beyoncé and her husband, rapper Jay Z, went on a 22-day vegan diet on the advice of their trainer, Marco Borges. Even after the 22 days were over, the couple adopted a mostly plant-based diet with the addition of some fish and meat.
When they performed on the Grammy stage together in January 2014, it was clear that they had both dropped serious weight on the plant-based diet. See more photos of their performance here.

She also add a protein-based diet to lose weight and gain muscle.

Beyoncé is Famous for the Master Cleanse, but She Doesn’t Endorse It
Never. I did it to lose weight really fast, but it wasn’t fun. There are healthier ways to lose weight—I wouldn’t recommend it.
Beyoncé Credits Her Fitness to Mental Strength
She told Self in an interview:
The truth is, it’s a lot of sacrifice. It’s more about your mental strength than physical strength. You have to push yourself. It doesn’t matter what trainer you have. And it doesn’t matter what program you’re on. You have to be healthy and make the right choices.
