CONFIRMED: Jacintha Saldanha Found Hanged By Co-Workers

The mystery behind Jacintha Saldanha‘s death after she was pranked by Aussie DJs has now been confirmed as a suicide, reports The New York Times. Before now, the details behind the nurse’s death weren’t made public.

Saldanha’s body was found hanged by a scarf in the nurse’s quarters of King Edward VII hospital in London.

British police say the victim of the prank call left three notes before she died. Two notes were found in her room and the third among her possessions. Details of the notes have not been disclosed.

“At this time there are no suspicious circumstances,” Detective Chief Inspector James Harman said at a Westminster Coroner’s Court hearing in central London on Thursday.

Saldanha’s husband Benedict Barboza and their two teenage children did not attend the hearing.

Police are looking at telephone calls and e-mails for further investigation to shed light on the motive behind Saldanha’s tragic suicide.

Australian DJs Mel Greig and Michael Christian duped Saldanha into patching them through to another nurse at the hospital that Kate Middleton was staying at by impersonating Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth II in order to gain confidential information on the Duchess of Cambridge. Saldanha was found dead days later.
