The President’s Trophy-winning New York Rangers advanced to the second round after eliminating the Pittsburgh Penguins in five games. The Washington Capitals had a longer journey getting there, needing all seven games to knock out the New York Islanders.
Now, they’re facing off for a spot in the Eastern Conference Finals. This is their fourth playoff meeting in the last five years.
