Turang went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base in a loss to the Cubs on Saturday. Turang's speed was on display in the defeat -- he plated the Brewers' first run with an RBI bunt single in the third inning and followed the hit with a steal of second base. The swipe was his 28th of the season, second-most in the majors. Fantasy managers should have been aware of Turang's speed coming into the campaign after he swiped 26 bags in 137 games last year, but the second baseman's other offensive stats have been a pleasant surprise. He's slashing .290/.354/.406 with five homers, 33 RBI and 39 runs through 317 plate appearances.
Manager Pat Murphy said Saturday that Dunn has a disc issue in his back and is expected to remain on the injured list for at least another month, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Dunn landed on the MLB injured list Wednesday after originally being sent to Triple-A on June 19, and it now seems that he'll be stuck on the IL for an extended period of time. The 26-year-old infielder hadn't been playing very often anyway prior to landing on the IL, and he'll likely be optioned to Nashville again once he's fully recovered.
Ortiz was scratched from the Brewers' lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Cubs due to neck soreness. Ortiz was originally in line to make his return to Milwaukee's lineup after neck problems kept him from playing Friday, but he'll instead require another day to heal. As a result, Andruw Monasterio will pick up another start at third base and bat ninth.
Ortiz (neck) will start at third base and bat leadoff during Saturday's game versus the Cubs. Ortiz made an early exit from Wednesday's game versus the Rangers and sat out Friday's series opener due to neck problems, but he's feeling well enough to play Saturday. The 25-year-old third baseman has found a good amount of success at the plate recently, going 5-for-14 with a solo home run over his last five games.
Bauers isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Cubs. Bauers has now missed two straight starts since hitting a grand slam during Wednesday's win over the Rangers. Rhys Hoskins will get the nod at first base while Christian Yelich serves as Milwaukee's DH.
The Brewers designated Roller for assignment Saturday. The Brewers selected Rob Zastryzny's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Saturday in order to replace the injured Jared Koenig (forearm), leaving Roller as the odd man out of Milwaukee's 40-man roster. The 27-year-old outfielder has slashed just .196/.237/.313 through 173 plate appearances in Triple-A and will most likely pass through waivers unclaimed.
Rea (7-2) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over 5.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Cubs. Rea looked strong aside from a speed bump in the fourth inning. He gave up a solo shot to Seiya Suzuki before Dansby Swanson drove in another run. Rea set new season highs with eight strikeouts and 15 whiffs, including six via the sinker. He hasn't lost a start since May 19; in seven outings since then, he's 4-0 with a 3.03 ERA. Rea is now sporting a 3.61 ERA and 62:28 K:BB through 87.1 innings. His next start is projected to be in Colorado.
Megill tossed a perfect ninth inning to earn a save against the Cubs on Friday. Megill threw nine of 11 pitches for strikes and quickly worked through the Cubs' 6-7-8 hitters to finish the 4-2 victory. He's converted 11 straight save chances since his last blown opportunity May 20. During that stretch, he's produced a 1.32 ERA over 13.2 frames. Megill's season ERA is down to 1.71 alongside a 30:7 K:BB.
