All five parts of ESPN’s ’30 for 30′ documentary, O.J.: Made in America, are now streaming for free on Watch ESPN. Click here to access all parts of the series.
Director Ezra Edelman’s 7 hour and 43 minute documentary sheds light on the man who was tried for the 1994 deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Lyle Goldman. Edelman not only investigates details of the murder case by drawing from over 70 interviews with Simpson’s friends, family, and colleagues, but he spends time examining the racial tensions that defined Los Angeles at the time, and how the football player’s celebrity and personality may have played a role in his trial.
Beginning tomorrow, June 19, the series will also be available on DVD. You can preorder it here.
The series has received critical acclaim, despite its arrival so soon after FX’s dramatization of the trial, “The People vs. OJ Simpson: American Crime Story.” It was released in theaters for a week in May so that it could qualify for an Oscar nomination. The LA Times writes, “Historically meticulous, thematically compelling and deeply human, “O.J.: Made in America” is a masterwork of scholarship, journalism and cinematic art.”
