On October 27, 2016, Twitter officially closed the doors on Vine. As of the time of publication, Twitter said no Vines will be deleted, and the website will stay online. Twitter will notify users before making any changes to the app or website, the BBC reported. Vine has been around for four years. Twitter gave no reason for the closure, the BBC said, but the company is laying off about 9% of its workers.
