We have ourselves a Game 7.
The Chicago Cubs forced a deciding final World Series game by defeating the Cleveland Indians 9-3 on Tuesday night in Game 6.
Game 7 is set for 8 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday night from Progressive Field. The game will be televised by FOX.
The host Indians are expected to send Corey Kluber to the mound in the series finale. Kluber has been lights out in the Fall Classic. He won both Games 1 and 4, holding the Cubs to 1 run over 12 innings, while striking out 15 and walking 1. Kluber has allowed just 3 runs in 30 1/3 postseason innings.
Chicago’s probable starter is Kyle Hendricks, who blanked Cleveland over 4 1/3 innings in Game 3. He didn’t factor into the decision, but struck out 6 and walked 2. Hendricks has pitched 20 1/3 innings during the postseason, giving up only 3 runs.
The Indians will be looking for their first World Series title since 1948. The Cubs have been waiting a bit longer — 1908.
