Michael Phelps has gotten revenge on Ryan Lochte, winning gold in the 200 IM at the London Olympics.
After Lochte kicked off the 2012 Games by dethroning teammate and legend Phelps — winning gold in the 400 IM while Phelps finished a distant fourth — Lochte was the new toast of the town.
But there was a lot of pride left in the greatest swimmer who ever lived, and Phelps has added a 16th Olympic gold medal to his stash.
Lochte was likely fatigued from a swimming a race minutes earlier — the 200 backstroke, in which he was heavily favored but blew the lead and fell to third (bronze) behind American Tyler Clary and Ryosuke Irie of Japan. Despite the back-to-back, he was just .16 seconds behind Phelps in the 200, taking silver.
