I’m beating the tabloids to it and posting this Divorce Statement. fb.me/7wF7UQLdd

Big Bang Theory and Blossom star Mayim Bialik has announced her divorce in a blog post, to which she linked in a tweet to “beat the tabloids” to the punch. Bialik insists the divorce is unrelated to her unusual parenting practices, though we thinks she doth protest too much. Here’s what you should know about their doomed relationship:
1. Her Husband Converted to Judaism to Marry Her
Michael Stone converted from Mormonism to Judaism to marry Bialik, who is a practicing Orthodox Jew.
2. They’ve Been Married 9 Years
Stone and Bialik married in August 2003 in Los Angeles. It was a Victorian-themed, Orthodox Jewish wedding.
3. They Sleep with Their Kids
Bialik is a believer in “attachment parenting” and the author of a book on the subject. Her methods include mom and dad sleeping together with the kids. Bialik and Stone have two children, Miles, 7, and Frederick, 4.
4. She Breast Fed Her Sons Past Age 3
Continuing in the progressive parenting practices category, Bialik is a believer in extended, “on-demand” breast feeding. She breast-fed her sons through the toddler stage.
5. Michael Was a Stay-at-Home Dad
Stone was saddled with primary caregiving duties of the children. He had no help from a nanny, as that would violate their progressive parenting principles.
6. They’re Brainiacs
Both Bialik and Stone hold doctorates in neuroscience. They met in grad school at UCLA. Perhaps they had too much in common?
7. She Was in a Nasty Car Accident in August
Bialik nearly lost a finger three months ago in a brutal car wreck on Hollywood Boulevard, where she collided with a car filled with Chilean tourists.
8. She Announced the Divorce Via Blog
On the Jewish parenting blog Kveller, Bialik publicized her own divorce:
After much consideration and soul-searching, Michael and I have arrived at the decision to divorce due to “Irreconcilable Differences.”
Divorce is terribly sad, painful and incomprehensible for children. It is not something we have decided lightly.
The hands-on style of parenting we practice played no role in the changes that led to this decision; relationships are complicated no matter what style of parenting you choose.
The main priority for us now is to make the transition to two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible. Our sons deserve parents committed to their growth and health and that’s what we are focusing on. Our privacy has always been important and is even more so now, and we thank you in advance for respecting it as we negotiate this new terrain.
9. She Was Nominated for an Emmy This Year
Bialik was off the radar for years after her child-stardom days in the movie Beaches and on the hit sit-com Blossom. But she’s been back in the spotlight in recent years with her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory. She was nominated for a 2012 Emmy for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She lost to Julie Bowen of Modern Family.
10. She’s a Vegan
Did Michael get sick of eating rabbit food all the time?
